Brightly Colored Lemon Lush

Used a beautiful background stamp, Lemon Lush, by Pinkfresh Studio to make this card. It took awhile but time I have!

1.  Stamped in Memento Tuxedo ink on Neenah solar white cardstock, and kept the paper and the stamp in the MISTI.
2.  Colored with Copics.
3.  Stamped with Versamark and embossed in gold.
4.  Trimmed and put on A2 white card.
5.  Added white Hello (it provided a badly needed 3rd white element). Eyes need a break from all that color.

This is crazy bright (Mike says I went overboard), but I just wanted a lot of COLOR and I like it. These background stamps are less versatile than a set with images, but they are a lot easier for me.

As you can see, I'm not the greatest at using Copics. I need to practice my blending, but it is fun. And someone is going to open an envelope to a riot of color and I do not think my friends will care that my blending is subpar. If the pandemic has done one good thing for my cardmaking it's that I'm sending so many more cards!

MOOD WHEN DONE:  Dandy!

Thanks for your comments. They make me smile! No news here, which is a good thing! Our week was calm. Turns out Coca Cola has temporarily stopped making a bunch of their smaller drinks, like Fresca. But I managed to find some and will move on when I run out, as the warehouses are empty (yes, I checked!). It's funny how we focus on the dumbest things!

Hope your weekend is a good one.

I like Fresca as well, but I don't drink it that often. Have you tried grapefruit seltzer water? It is not as bright as Fresca, but still refreshing. I like the store brand (Giant for me - not near you) the best, but Polar and LaCroix also make it.

Kathy D -- thanks for the suggestion. I do not like drinks that are unsweetened. I've tried!!

I couldn't wait to see a closeup of that card. It's just wonderful. Your blending looks just fine and that stamp needs bright colors. The gold embossing is a technique I will be using very soon. Love it!

What a joy it was to be greeted by your card this morning! The gorgeous colors just make me happy. I don't think that you went overboard at all. This card deserves a frame!

To me, that design demands bright and happy colors to take it where it needs to go.....WOW! Great choice, great execution, great results. Thanks for something special in our day

While I personally would not have the patience to color something like this, I think your end results are fantastic and do the stamp great justice!!! Go, you!!! (virtual high five)

Marisela Delgado said: so beautiful! Gorgeous colors! I didn't know they still made Fresca! My mom and I play my Loteria game (Mexican bingo) from when I was a kid (I'm 50). I take care of my things (had to or I got spanked) and we use the bottle caps that I collected when I was a kid. I looked through them and found caps for Tab. Remember that one? My mother is from Mexico and her uncle worked for Coca-Cola in Mexico. By the way, have you ever tried Mexican Coca-Cola? Mexican Coke, we say. They make it with sugar cane sugar and it is DELICIOUS! ANYWAY, when we visited my mom's hometown, he would load us up with Mexican Coke and Tab (for my dad). Isn't that crazy? Going to Mexico for Coca-Cola?!!? We say in Spanish, "es como llevar piedras al cerro." That means that it's like taking rocks to a mountain. Like we don't have Coca-Cola here! haha Anyway, beautiful card and enjoy your Fresca! If you ever come to San Antonio, you can come play Loteria with us. Maybe even do some stamping! 😊😊😊😊 tu amiga/your friend, Marisela mariandmonsterd@yahoo.com

This card lifted my spirits...thank you! I love it! I’ve also been sending a lot more cards out...one way of connecting and also a good excuse—-I mean reason— to sit and try to create.

I haven't had Fresca in 40 years since moving from Nebraska to Oregon. My bug-a-boo was Dr Pepper until quitting two years ago. It's fun to explore different card designs and coloring. Unless we're Yana S none of us have the time to color one as pretty as yours on a daily basis. Thanks for doing it though.

Thanks for this inspiring card. I love it. I finally bought the stamp and tried to recreate what you did. I am now going to try heat embossing in gold first and then adding watercolour. Thank you so much.
