Taking the 10 Day Fed Up (Sugar Free Challenge): The Night Before
Tomorrow, June 2nd, I start the Fed Up Challenge. I'm challenged (to say the least) to have no added sugar or artificial sugar in any form. Fruits are ok because, according to the folks behind the challenge, the fiber in the fruits slows down the absorption of the sugar. White flour is not ok, because the body immediately converts it to sugar. Good bye lemonade, Diet Snapple, cookies, and the Thai restaurant across the street from my house. Hello protein, cheese, nuts, beans, vegetables and fruits.
I'm looking to see what affect going sugar free will have on my sleeping, energy, and who knows what else. I don't know what I am going to drink, as I do. not. like. water.
Do Mint Milanos have sugar?
I'll be posting every day with an update! Wish me luck!

I'm sure you'll do great!
Thanks, should be interesting.
Just to be safe, you better send me your Mint Milanos. I'll be a good friend that supports you on the journey by eating all the temptations for you...
I can't help but think you'll feel a lot better. More energy. Clearer headed. Decreased appetite. I tend to get low blood sugary. When I eat sugar it goes up, then crashes lower than before I started. Every now and then I clear out the sugar and feel so much better. If only I could stay off of it!
I'll try this with you. i need to get into a bathing suit and it ain't happenin at this point! Because of the protein you do need to do the water though -- stick a lemon slice, lime slice, orange slice in it to give it some flavor~ :)
awesome!! I am not trying to lose weight over the next 10 days, but really trying to get rid of the sugar and simple carbs before I try and lose weight. Hope this makes sense! Good luck and please keep me posted on how you are doing. I will post on the blog later this evening with my update!
I hope so!!
OK, Good Luck. Nuff said :)
Oh I do feel for you and certainly wish you the greatest of good luck!
Good for you! I followed the Zone diet when I was trying to lose weight after Nathan. It's not really a diet more of a way of living. I had to cut out all sugar too. A couple of things I learned: string cheese is awesome fast protein. It also tastes good with almonds. When you try to drink something with lots of sugar in it after the fact you'll gag. No, really. It changed the way I drink my coffee forever. Last, Tea is your friend. Hot or cold it tastes different and is a really nice change up from water. Or try the fruit waters people make at home. I didn't do that but I've heard great things about them :) Good luck!!
Go, Joan! I so admire your doing this and know that you will feel better. I'm with Leslie and tend toward low blood sugar. But I also have health issues that require low sodium, which naturally brings down calories. I eat lots of fruit and fiber, and that all helps with feeling full. People think I'm crazy when I tell them I'm never hungry, but I think it's the fiber. And I do drink a lot of water, but I drink bottled water (yes, I know...blah, blah about the plastic bottles...but it works for me, and I found the water that I like the taste of). Keep on, my friend! You'll do it! Hugs!
Joan, I love both cards--especially the fruit one! It's fresh and loose, and that little strip of stripes just below the sentiment is perfect!
