Before and After: 2 Cards with The Ton's Poinsettia Wreath

Before

Stamped The Ton's Poinsettia Wreath around the sides of an aqua card base, colored with Copics, and then restamped in Versamark and embossed in white. This technique is time consuming, as you have to work on one image at a time, but I love the results. Learned this technique from watching Yana Smakula's videos. HERE is a video where you can see how she stamps and image, colors it, then restamps it in sticky ink and embosses.

But the sentiment is hard to see -- stamping it first and using a different color would have helped. Speaking of which....

After

Similar technique, although this time I stamped the sentiment first, used gold, and of course, a pink and red color scheme. Much easier to see the sentiment.

MOOD WHEN DONE: Happy!

As you may have heard there was a serious tornado in Dallas over the weekend. We were out of town so missed the sirens. Luckily for us, the tornado missed our neighborhood by a few miles. It also missed my son's place by a couple of miles. Mike's family also was spared.

Wow they are both beautiful cards and I would love to know how to attempt this technique but sadly couldn't quickly find the information on Yana's page (that lady is talented!). Would you be able to post a direct link or help narrow down my search? So glad you and your family were spared, can't imagine the horror of a tornado ripping through.

Love the green one 'cept for the sentiment. I'd fix it and send it out! Thanks for letting us all know you are OK.

Sorry about that! I updated the post to link to a video where Yana demonstrates her technique.

Both are beautiful and only a crafter would be even slightly critical of the sentiment issue with the first card. Everyone, other card makers included, will be far too enamored with the flowers to be critical of the sentiment! I love that you were able to learn from that and had the fortitude to make another similar but better, especially with such a time consuming technique! Do not hesitate to mail that first card as it will still be marveled at and enjoyed! BTW, great news that the tornado spared you and your loved ones!

I love the aqua one so much that I don't even care about the sentiment. I think it's incredibly beautiful. The pink card is jaw dropping, too. I love the idea of coloring on colored cardstock. I'll have to see what I have that would look good like this. Brilliant. I saw the news about the tornado and knew you were out of state at the time. Really glad to know it did not affect your home or those of your family.
