Took Concord & 9th's awesome Tree Ring and turned it into a sun. Added Julie Ebersole designed Essentials by Ellen All Inside sentiment and we are having fun. Watercolored the "sun."
Wanted some coordinating paper on the side of the card so I made my own using a little stamp from Concord & 9th's Birdie Banners.
Using very little water, I painted the stripes on the side of the base card using the same Kuretake Gansai Tambi watercolors that I used to color the sun.
Added some gold glitter tape for some fun (I'm not sure what brand my tape is but I've linked to something similar).
Tomorrow I'll be back with a "very special" post and a nice giveaway. Actually, I hate teases but I'm just feeling it.
MOOD WHEN DONE = Perky

That's a brilliant use of that tree ring stamp. I like the colors you painted along the edge, too - great idea!
Soo, soo clever!
Love this card and thanks for the inspiration!

THiS is amazing
Brilliant! Gosh, I love it enough as a tree ring, but as a sun it's fabulous! Very imaginative the way you did the border. I just love these colors.
LOVE the smidge of painted stripes. Looks like you've mastered the black flicking...perfection & I always look forward to your mood at the end...I like perky:)
You are right! You really created your own sunshine! I love to make one thing from another, but I don't know if I would have made it from the tree ring to the sunshine. Your card is amazing! You are so talented.
That tiny border on the side is so effective! Love the addition of the sequins too - gotta have that bling!
I love this card, Joan! I love having a new way to use the tree ring, super creative. Hope you remain perky and have an amazing day.

Absolutely love this one! Brill use of the tree ring stamp.

This might be my favorite card EVER! Awwesome use of the tree trunk stamp which I wouldn't have considered in a million years and now must own!
The colors are perfectly matched with the sentiment! Really a fun, vibrant card. Thank you for sharing your process!
